Baltimore Native Gary Koch Remembered As Doting Dad, Sports Enthusiast (Tribute)

Baltimore native Gary Edward Koch died on Feb. 7, 2022. He was 36 years old.

Gary attended North County High School and enjoyed playing most sports from a young age, according to his obituary.

A lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Gary kept up on all of the statistics, and shared his love for the Baltimore Ravens with his son, Nathan, his obit says.

Gary's kids, Nathan and Sophia, were his pride and joy, according to a GoFundMe page for their educations that had raised more than $2,200 as of Feb. 16.

Gary is preceded by his parents, Harry Edward Koch and Deborah Lin (Jones) Koch, and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by his children, Nathan Koch and Sophia Koch; his two sisters, Michele Helinski and Crystal Daugherty; nephews Joseph, Brady and Keagan; and nieces Kylee and Megan.

Services were private.
